The approach
This home is all about light and the garden beyond, so we kept the palette to soft whites, warm greige and pale blues, and let linen drapery, woven shades and wainscoting add texture without weight. Traditional architectural details, from coffered ceilings to panelled walls, are balanced with relaxed, comfortable furnishings.
Living and entertaining
In the living room, deep slipcovered sofas and a sculptural wood drum table face French doors to the garden. The dining room sits beneath a coffered ceiling and a beaded chandelier, with a trestle table and upholstered chairs for long dinners. A waterfall-edge kitchen, a glass-fronted wine cellar and a rotunda stair hall carry the same calm palette through the house.
Private rooms
The primary bedroom rises to a vaulted ceiling, with built-in shelving, a woven headboard and an upholstered bench. The primary bath pairs a navy framed mirror and white shaker vanity with a freestanding tub under a skylight, while collected pieces like an inlaid chest, a rope mirror and hand-carved consoles give each room its own character.
The transformation
Drag across each photo to compare the rooms as we found them with the finished design.
